Polar fleece rugs, handbags, knitted and crocheted toys and apparel

Looking very much like Christmas here in northern Mn. I am working many hours to get my etsy shop stocked with more polar fleece items plus adding new additional creations of my own in knitting and crochet. I wish I didn't have to sleep, too many ideas flying around in my head!

We have 3 inches of snow on the ground, making it look very pretty but also slippery in spots. Shovel has come out of storage with the boots and mittens! A pretty time of year but also a very busy one, one I like very much!

Temps are Falling Fast!

Well, get prepared," Winter is coming" is what one local forecaster announced this morning. We are seeing our temps in the high 50's (yesterday) going down quickly today. We now stand at 35 degrees above zero! Ouch! Well now I am even more tanked to get the mits, hats scarves and warm accessories out in my etsy shop.

Today is Veterans Day. My husband was in the Airforce during the end of the Vietnam War. We were stationed at Barksdale AFB, a very beautiful base in Shreveport, Bossier City. I have many good memories of those days, friends in the military became our family away from our families. Some we are still in touch with, a special friendship shared by many. Thankyou to all our Vets and troups!

knitted pullover childs sweater

sweater

Knitted hooded childs sweater

This sweater is an easy beautiful sweater to knit for a child. It is also one that if you are an experience knitter and like to add your own additional stitches or ways of binding off at hood or possibly even change with embellishments. I have combined 3 patterns plus adding my own ideas to this sweater. I used Red Heart acrylic sport yarn. Keeps it shape and is very warm. Our granddaughter says she is beautiful in it! That is all that mattered to me, Happy it keeps her warm plus warms my heart!

who knew there were so many types of bamboo knitting needles?

This morning I have been researching double pointed bamboo knitting needles. I would prefer to purchase many sizes at once. So far on Amazon.com I see the best deals and quality offered. I have some Clover bamboo needles which are excellent but pricey when you want to buy them in every size. I prefer knitting with bamboo needles so I will continue to research for the best deal and quality.
Today I saw my first tiny little snowflakes coming down. Only 31 degrees out,but yet no accumulation! That is ok,it is too early for me to have that white stuff on the ground, winter's are long enough here in northern Mn.
My daughter just gave me the best cream cheese pumpkin dessert recipe that I will later copy on here. I am a sucker for anything pumpkin!
Today I am working on my polarfleece large bag, plus when I take a break from that and watch the tv, I am knitting gloves and mittens, plus leg warmers. I have my directions all spread out in front of me, making it look like I work in utter chaos! Oh well, that is me, I work best under pressure and many ideas flying through my mind!
Best get busy now for the day is a wasting!

polarfleece not just for blankets

I have taken polar fleece and prepared them into strips and weave them on my handmade loom. Polar fleece makes a very soft and strong attractive item. Many uses and lasts forever when properly taken care of.

New Fingerless gloves, New Polar Fleece bags soon to come

I have been very busy working on adding to the inventory in my Etsy shop. I have been designing my own patterns so it takes time but it time that is well spent. Love playing with all this different yarns, fabrics and colors.

Taking a break and going Trucking!

Today I get to take a break from creating and go trucking with my husband! I just love this, doesn't matter where I travel to in this semi, just love riding in it! Today we will deliver logs to the yard in Duluth, next to lake Superior. Then return the trailer back to the woods in Embarrass. I will take along my camera and hopefully get some good pictures. It is a cloudy day out so pictures may be a little dark.
The road restrictions went on at mid night last night so we can take this last load being it is only the main highways that we will be on.

Color Crayon Rug

I have finished my "Color Crayon" rug! I love the plush bright colors and the new size I can now make, no seams! I love these woven polar fleece rugs because of the softness and being strong at the same time. They do not stretch out, fade or no loose ends to get ones shoes or something caught in.Washable, dry in a low setting dryer or best if laid flat to dry.

size is 3 ft. long by 17 inches wide

Very cold here in northern Mn.

Well, it is typical Jan, very cold. It could be worse so I should not complain too loudly! Just got done putting supper in the oven, baked spuds, salmon with limejuice and garlic roasted vineagar. We are having steamed carrots too plus I put in a new recipe we introduced during the holidays. Every holiday we try to make a new recipe, since we are the cooks for the holidays in this family, I like to try new things.
This year we tried Corn Pudding , why they call it pudding I dont know. It should be corn bread stuffing, very moist though. Anyway everyone liked it so much that it will be a family favorite.
Here is the recipe if anyone would like to try it.We are still experimenting with it so maybe you can add your own twist to it too.

Ingredients:
1 pkg. 8 0z size cream cheese softened
2 eggs
1/3 cuo sugar
1 pkg. of jiffy corn bread/muffin mix
1 can of cream corn
1 can regular corn or 2 cups of frozen corn
1/2 cuo of top the tator sour cream or 1/2 cup milk, we like the sour cream
2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Lightly grease a deep dish casserole. Blend in mixing bowl the cream cheese, sour cream sugar and eggs. Add the remainging ingredients and blend well by hand
bake at 400 for 30 to 45 minutes, may have to cover with foil during the end of time if the middle stays wet. Like I said, we are still experimenting !
Enjoy we have found that it is even better the second day, eat cold or warm it up again

Very cold here in northern Mn.

this is my new coaster

Wishing everyone a Happy Healthy New Year

Well, it is time I get busy once again, no more eating sweets, and taking naps! Time to get down to business. As usual, I have a thousand and one ideas going through my mind, jotting some down and have even tried a rough sketching of some. I am going to be introducing kits and looms for sale soon, in my shops. I haven't played this whole time I was absent, I did learn to use some power tools, and I accomplished making all the gifts for christmas that I had intended on doing.
I learned some new crafts, excited to put my designs in motion and get busy with learning more about marketing through blogging and talking with people. It is certainly a big learning experience for this 50+ grandma who is always up for the challenge!
